Competitions
COMPETITION HANDICAPS
Members must return 3 qualifying scores during a twelve-month period,
ending 31st December, if they are to retain a competition handicap.
Members who do not hold a competition (c) handicap will be able to play
in competitions to recover a competition (c) handicap but will not be able
to:
•
play in knockout competitions
•
win any competition
•
represent the Club in any match
In addition to Club competitions, Supplementary Scores and AWAY scores
from Handicap Qualifying Events (HQE’s) at other Clubs can be used to
recover a competition handicap.
SUPPLEMENTARY SCORES
Under the WHS, members in all Handicap Categories are entitled to
submit Supplementary Scores for handicapping purposes. Conditions
relating to supplementary scores include the requirement to sign the
Supplementary Scores Register held in the Professional’s Shop before
commencement of the round. Full details of all conditions are posted on
the notice board and in the Supplementary Scores Register. For Ladies,
supplementary scores are acceptable over 9 holes for handicap categories
2 and above.
AWAY SCORES
Members playing in a competition at another club must either return a
copy of their card or full details of date/course/competition /SSS/ course
par/CSS/gross score and handicap to the Professional’s Shop.
