Competitions
COMPETITION DAYS
The main competition days are Tuesday and Saturday. Other
competitions are held on some Sundays and Bank Holidays and, rarely,
on other days of the week.
Bookings for competitions are through V1 and are booked 2 weeks in
advance.
TUESDAY AND SATURDAY COMPETITIONS
On Tuesdays (ladies’ competitions) and Saturdays, the course is
reserved for competitors until 30 minutes after the last tee time. Special
arrangements apply to shotgun starts (see later).
Non competitors may not start before the competition from any tee. Times
when the course is reserved for competitors will also be displayed on the
notice board by the Club office.
Non competitors starting after the competition may start from the first tee
only and may play in two, three or fourballs or single players.
It is a condition of playing that non competitors must not interfere
with competitors. Any party starting after a competition must not play
closely behind competitors causing them to ‘feel under pressure’. On
some competition days, for example Captain’s Day and Lady Captain’s
Day, it may not be possible for non-competitors to start as soon as 30
minutes after the last tee time. This will be clearly stated on all relevant
noticeboards.
