Dress Code
Prestbury Golf Club seeks to promote a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with
a contemporary dress code while respecting golfing traditions and maintaining
reasonable standards of dress both on the course and in the clubhouse.
ON THE COURSE, PUTTING GREEN, & PRACTICE GROUND:
• Smart conventional golf clothing should be worn. In deciding what is acceptable, if
clothing is specifically designed for golf or is sold in the professional’s shop, then it
is deemed to be acceptable.
• The following are not seen as acceptable attire: tracksuits, “cargo style” trousers, gym
wear, football or rugby shirts or similar – none of these are acceptable anywhere in
any area of the Club.
• Shorts should be tailored, knee length and may be worn with predominantly white
socks, either short ankle sports socks (including trainer liner socks) or knee length.
• Men’s shirts must have collars and sleeves and be worn tucked into trousers
or shorts.
• Lady’s golf shirts that have been designed / tailored to wear outside trousers /
shorts / skirts etc. may be worn. All other shirts must be tucked in.
• Shoes should be specifically designed for golf. For safety, metal spikes are permitted
on the course during the winter months.
• When worn on the course, headgear should have any peak facing forward.
LEAVING THE COURSE:
• Headwear and waterproof clothing should be left in the locker rooms, as they are
not allowed in the main Clubhouse.
